Good until the handle broke. By Jessica
We took our new (never used) luggage on a trip to Hawaii in May. Off-boarding the last flight over the handle for the larger carry-on broke and would not retract back in which wasn't a big deal since we were at our destination and the bag was being loaded into the back of a truck. I figured it was just getting hung up somehow with the stuff in the bag and I would be able to fix it. I took everything out while unpacking and assessed the bag. I could not find any reason why the handle would not go back down. The button on the handle just wasn't making the nobs go back in to let the handle back down. BUT on the way back home, in the first airport, my son pulled the handle up, and it of course wouldn't go back in...so in the middle of the airport, I had to take ALL of the clothes, shoes, etc out of the bag and manually push in the little nobs that hold the handle up in place to get the handle to go back down! Otherwise it would not have fit into the overhead bin! So I then repacked by bag and watch carefully to ensure that didn't happen again throughout the 23 hour trip home! This luggage set is not well constructed. The handles feel very flimsy and the metal tabs which hold them on have already bent significantly even after only several uses. The zippers are decent. The wheels seemed great until one of the wheels on the large suitcase broke. They are not attached very well to the luggage. For $200 look elsewhere. I had a set of Ricardo luggage before and it lasted me about 7 years with no issues until I accidentally broke the roller handle. It was MUCH better quality than this and was half the price. I have tried to submit a warranty claim (since the manufacturer warranty is 5 years) but cannot find anywhere how to contact them. I would highly recommend NOT getting this luggage. We got this luggage specifically for a trip to Italy for 2 weeks. We used the 2 biggest pieces for our trip. The quality and hardware on these are pretty good. They look really nice- and we got the orange color so they were easy to spot on the baggage carousel. They are definitely easy to find without being tacky! Our luggage held up through multiple flights and trains through Italy. The only problem we've had is that the expander zipper on the 2nd to largest bag stopped working by the end of the trip. This may be because my husband stuffed more in the bag than was reasonable, but nonetheless, it doesn't work anymore. That is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Other than that, I was extremely happy with how well these bags held up, and I think they have a lot of useful pockets on the inside and hold quite a bit.
