After many trips flying across the U.S. and to and from Europe, including inter-country rail travel, this luggage still performs as well as they day I got it.
Yes, it has its fair share of scuff marks and even a few slight gouges, but I see that as the true sign of a tested road warrior. Willing to take all that you can throw at him and not afraid to show it. Simply a few cosmetic blemishes on what is otherwise, a great piece of luggage.
Finally, here's a very important point about rolling "spinner" luggage, whether you look to this brand or another. Look for ones with 2 wheels at each corner - a total of 8 wheels. They are much more stable and less prone to tipping over than the ones with just one wheel per corner. Take my word for it. This is an important feature to look for.
Light weight, strong and holds more. By Andre Browne This the best piece of luggage I have ever owned that meets AA's size requirements for large baggage. I needed a strong bag that would not be treated as extra large by AA's standards. The polycarbonate material is lighter than the standard cloth and steel bag yet sturdy. This means more items can be added to get under 50 lbs than with a standard bag. The wheels when included in the dimensions fall under the maximum dimension allowed by AA. I have used it on two flights so far and it held up with just scratches to the glossy paint finish which I expected. Maybe they need to offer a Matte version. The included combination TSA lock means you don't have to buy an extra lock that can get lost. The 4 wheels make it a cinch to maneuver even when loaded with 49.4 lbs ;)3 of 3
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, HORRIBLE PRODUCT! By James Long Purchased a Richardo Bag for a trip and the handle broke before I even got on the aircraft. Bag has a lifetime warranty so I contacted customer service. First off the email for customer service did not work and was rejected. Did a little research and found an email that worked. Got the typical automated response advising that I would get a response within 24-48 hours?
Well three weeks later I receive an email from the CSR. We begin to go around and around regarding the repair of the bag. The rep. was obviously dogging the fact that they had an issue. After several months of getting the run around via email. They finally sent me to a local repair service for their bags and assured me that they would take care of the repair and even cover the costs of shipping back to my house so I did not have to pick the bag up.
I dropped the bag off and the repair service advises that Ricardo will not repair the bag? Lifetime warranty, HUH?
Ricardo has the absolute worst customer service I have ever dealt with. They are not responsive and the do not support their product nor their "Lifetime Warranty" that was stated in the documents received with the bag.
I HIGHLY ADVISE THAT YOU DO NOT PURCHASE A RICARDO BAG.
