I purchased this larger, garment-bag, sized version along with a Samsonite Silhouette 12 21" Spinner Luggage which I use for shorter trips. I travel a lot and have gone through 3 roll aboard suit cases in the past 5 years. The Samsonite Silhouettes are far superior to its predecessors in ways that are important to me as a frequent traveler.
1 - The wheels roll smoothly both in an upright and angled position. My previous 'gliding' luggage had an awkward transition between the two modes that led to frequent tripping. The wheels are also VERY quiet. That is helpful when I'm leaving my building at 4AM to get to the airport. Neighbors get annoyed at noise at that hour.
2 - Zippers and stitching all seem very solid.
3 - The space is well designed with room for expansion, good pocket design and even a separate sippered compartment for shoes. My wife REALLY likes the shoe compartment.
4 - Both this Garment Bag and the smaller Silhouette pair perfectly with the Samsonite briefcase I purchased: Samsonite Classic Two Gusset 15.6" Toploader (Black)
5 - The price was right. Amazon was thirty-five bucks cheaper than Macy's sale price.
6 - The bag is lighter than its size suggests though it is wider than standard roll-aboard bags. On a regional jet you will have to gate check it, but that is standard for anything larger than a purse. Since it is no taller or thicker than other roll-aboards it will fit in any overhead bin that will accept a standard sized roll-aboard.
7 - My one concern is that there are no instructions for properly packing this bag. For example, should suits and shirts be laid out flat and folded in half with the bag, or should they be folded in half so that they stay completely in the upper section of the bag? I looked around online and found some poorly produced YouTube videos, but it would be an inexpensive step indeed for Samsonite to include a 1 page illustration showing how the bag should be loaded to minimize wrinkles.

This is a really good bag. It can handle several days worth of a variety of types of clothes, and keeps them more protected and neat than a traditional garment bag (nothing will keep clothes perfectly wrinkle-free in transit). It's sturdy and moves around very easily. The fact that you can almost live right out of it and not necessarily have to lay it down and unpack it like other rolling garment bags is great. The only thing I wish it had was some sort of brake device for the wheels. 2-wheel bags usually have a rubber pad so that when it's not tilted, it doesn't move. This one has four wheels (which has advantages) but no "brake". So if you're not on level ground, you have to either keep hold of the handle or position your feet (or other bags) to keep it from rolling away. Not a tragedy - I almost feel bad deducting a whole star for that. All in all, I recommend it.Very Sturdy and Well Designed By Been There
Love the two zippered "compartments" with stiff walls. These are creative use of otherwise wasted space above each shoulder of the hanging garments. The hanger catch/clip is well designed. There is a bit of space between the top of the hanger catch and an extra metal bar. I was able to fit two extra hangers there. Packed my husband's really heavy (and below the hip in length) leather jacket, three shirts and two slacks very comfortably. Shirts and coat were longer than the available hanging space and I was afraid they would get wrinkled. Then I noticed a fold out flap at the bottom where the excess can be anchored with straps and then folded up, with the fold up flap then snapped into place. It was amazing - there were no wrinkles upon arrival! I checked the luggage and it came thru fine. I also liked that it could be stood up in the hotel room...wasn't necessary to unpack the hanging clothes unless I wanted to. The 4 wheels were great to have - how did I ever live with two wheeled luggage! I did not really see where a pair of men's 11-1/2 dress shoes could fit into the luggage, but there might have been some room behind the flap. Smaller size shoes might fit in the two zippered compartments. There is an outside zippered pocket that can hold a couple of thinner garments. We are very pleased with this product.
